Logging In to Family and Student Access
Students may access Skyward by logging in through Launchpad.
Alternatively, students can use the SSO login button on http://skyward.ocps.net.
Please note you will need to enter your entire student email, instead of just your 480 number.
(Ex. 4804567879@students.ocps.net)
Enter the login name and password provided by the district. A single login will allow you to view information for each child in your family.
Your login ID is comprised of your student number. Logins and passwords are case sensitive. When you log in for the first time, you will have the opportunity to change your password to one of your choosing. You can also check and update your email address. That address will be used to retrieve your account information if you should need to do so in the future, and is also used by school personnel to communicate with you.
Skyward: Overview
Family Access and Student Access allow guardians and students to access student information over the internet via a secured web connection.
These modules help families to be more involved in their student’s education and improve communication with the school. Various applications within Family and Student Access allow students and/or their guardians to check attendance and grade history, view messages from their teachers or advisors, see test scores, and check lunch account balances, among other things.
Family Access has more information available than Student Access, and applications available in each are dependent on the student’s grade and school.
Skyward also has a mobile app. Information is available on our website.
My Account
The My Account screen displays account settings, address information, and email notification options. A dropdown allows you to view information on one child at a time, or all of your children at once.
Guardians can elect to receive email notifications when their child’s lunch account balance is below $3.00, or when their grade in a class is below a certain threshold and/or they are missing an assignment. These options vary by school and grade level.
The primary guardian can override the low percentage threshold at which a grading email notification is generated. The primary guardian is the first one listed when you select “View ’s Family” on the Student Info tab.
Navigation Tree
A navigation tree runs down the left side of the screen, allowing access to each of the application tabs provided for each of your students.
Applications will vary by school and grade level.
The Wall
The wall displays messages generated by various processes or staff members. They might include:
Food Service Low Balance
Food Service Payments
Messages from the School or District
Messages from Teachers, Advisors or Activity Leaders
Gradebook Messages
Attendance Messages
Wall posts will display until you elect to hide them, using the tools dropdown options at the top of the wall.
Calendar
The Calendar allows you to view absences, gradebook assignments and grades, messages, events, and other information set up by the district. The calendar can be viewed by month, week, or day.
If items appear on a given date, the date number is a hyperlink. Click the date number to view details of all the items on that date.
You can also click an item (for example, an assignment) to view details about that specific item.
Attendance
The Attendance application allows you to view a student’s absences and tardies.
Student Info
The Student Info tab provides demographic, family, and emergency contact information. Each fall, families will be asked to verify and update this information. If you notice that any of this information is incorrect throughout the year, please contact your school office to have it updated.
Food Service
The Food Service application allows you to view your family or student’s food service account information, including payments and purchases.
By clicking “Online Payments for Lunches, Other Purchases and Fees,” you will be linked to InTouch, where you can add money to your student’s lunch account. Your InTouch user name and password will be the same as your Skyward Family Access information. Follow the directions on the Online Payment site to log in and make payments.
Schedule
The Schedule tab allows you to view the current schedule for your middle school students.
Discipline
The Discipline application allows you to view the student’s discipline records. This tab lists student offenses in chronological order. A link allows you to view more details about the actions taken.
Test Scores
The Test Scores application allows you to view your student’s scores on standardized tests, such as the Smarter Balanced assessments. To view the student’s scores for a test, click the “Show Scores” link that corresponds with the test you wish to view.
Academic History
The Academic History application allows you to view the student’s grade history.
Health Info
The Health Information application displays certain student health records. Immunization records and Individual Health Plans (IHPs) for students who have them are displayed here. Click “Display Options” to switch between vaccinations and IHPs.
